Introduction
The Association was formed in 1934 as the Lancashire Association of Boys' Clubs but is now known as the Lancashire Association of Clubs for Young People, or LACYP for short.
We work through personal contact with 40 affiliated clubs throughout Lancashire, who have over 11,000 members aged between 8 and 21 years. Our aim is to assist and support these in providing a safe and exciting place for young people in which they can participate in a range of organised activities and develop through positive experiences, make new friends, learn about themselves and realise their potential as responsible citizens of the community.
Mission Statement
"To inspire and enable all young people, especially those considered to be disadvantaged, to realise their potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens."
Our Key Strategic Objectives
1. To increase the capacity of key clubs through a 'cluster system' to develop a more joined up and effective fron line delivery service.
2. To maintain LACYP as a direct delivery organisation through the continuance of a comprehensive programme of junior and senior activities for young people.
3. To provide personal contact and practical support to key clubs, via management committees (trustees), staff and members.
4. To secure sufficient core funding from new sources along with funding for identified new and innovative projects.
